Solanum lycopersicon (55-60 days; determinate) Bred at North Dakota State University and released by Dr. Neil Holland in 1960. Sheyenne boasts vigorous, drought-tolerant, compact determinate plants with early 6-12 oz red fruits, crack-resistant smooth shoulders, and excellent full tomato flavor. It’s compact growth habit makes it an excellent choice for container or limited-space gardens.
Growing Notes
Sow transplant seedlings indoors 5-6 wks before last frost; Planting depth: 1/4 inch. Avg. Days to Germ.: 7-12. Transplant outdoors with 36-48 in. spacing between plants in rows 4-6 ft. apart. Full sun. Days to Maturity (after transplant): 65-75.
