Pea: Green Arrow
Pisum sativum (60-70 days) A gourmet open-pollinated heirloom shell pea with pods almost always borne in doubles for easy picking. Each pod is 4-5” long, filled with 8–11 plump, tender, sweet peas. Exceptional for canning, freezing, and fresh eating. Grows 24-28” tall and is loaded with pods; heavy and reliable production. Resistant to fusarium wilt, root rot, leaf curl virus, and mildew.
Growing Notes
Planting Depth: 1”. Plant spacing: 2” apart; 2-3’ between rows. Sow 4 to 6 weeks before your average last frost date, when soil temperature is at least 40°F. Soil temp for best germ.: 50-75 °F. Emergence: 5-8 days; slower germination in colder soil temps. Full sun; tolerates partial shade. Fall sow 10 to 12 weeks before your average first frost date. Best grown in temperatures less than 85°F.
